Ponthenri Community Hall is looking for volunteers to form a new hall management committee. In recent years the management of the hall has been done voluntarily by one person who is standing down. A meeting is to be held at Ponthenri Community Hall on Wednesday 13 July, at 6.00pm. Those interested in helping at the hall are welcome to attend.
Attempts have been made recently to generate more interest in the hall and to highlight the opportunities available to the community of Ponthenri. On 13 June an event coordinated by Llanelli Rural Council was held called ‘Getting the most out of Ponthenri Hall’, where 13 information stands on various community services were on display. Leader to Llanelli Rural Council, Cllr Carol Rees explained: “We wanted to put something on to highlight the services on offer to the community. We had information on such things as Time Credits and Men’s Sheds which could be used to generate more community activity at Ponthenri Hall. It is not used to full capacity during week nights which is a shame. We received some great suggestions which can be presented to the new committee when they are in place.”
If you are interested in assisting on the new committee then please attend. If you are interested but cannot attend the meeting please register your interest before the meeting by contacting Darren Rees at Llanelli Rural Council on 01554 774103 / [email protected]
