Due to the recent prolonged hot weather spell, the sport pitches maintained by Llanelli Rural & Town Councils at Bwlch, Crown Park, Felinfoel Recreation Ground, Penyfan, Penygaer, People’s Park, Pwll Recreation Ground and Trallwm have been affected. During the months of June and July, these pitches are left to recover from the playing season. Required treatments and seeding are carried out on worn areas in order for the fields to recuperate. Due to the dry weather this has not been possible. As a result of the recent weather and the long range forecast, the Council is in talks with the sporting governing bodies in order to delay the start of their season until the pitches are ready.
